Katya Johanson, Ruth Rentschler

Abstract


Dr. Katya Johanson Katya Johanson is Lecturer in Professional Writing, in the School of Communication and the Creative Arts at Deakin University. She completed her doctoral thesis in 2001 on 'The Role of Australia's Cultural Council 1945-95' at Melbourne University. She has taught Arts and Entertainment Management, Australian Studies and Editing and Publishing at Melbourne and Deakin Universities. She is also an editor, and has worked for Cambridge University Press, Pearson Education and Deakin University. She lives in Melbourne with her partner and two daughters. Associate Professor Ruth Rentschler Ruth Rentschler (PhD, Monash) is Executive Director, Centre for Leisure Management Research in the Bowater School of Management & Marketing at Deakin University. Ruth has a keen interest in the arts and crafts as a painter, art historian and academic interested in micro-enterprises, of which Aboriginal artists form an important part. She is author and editor of a number of books, articles and guest editor of special issues of journals. Publications include the Cultural and Entertainment Industries Handbook, Shaping Culture, Innovative Arts Marketing and The Entrepreneurial Arts Leader. Her book, Shaping Culture, was published in Chinese in 2003. She is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing.
